Sofia Richie Graingehas gone viral on TikTok again, but not for herinsanely expensive wardrobeor her aspirational mommy lifestyle. This time, she’s being praised for her sense of rhythm.
The 26-year-old’s dance moves became a hot topic after she was seen effortlessly dancing alongside her friend, influencerJake Shane, in a TikTok video posted on Nov. 28.
Many people have taken to the app to perform their interpretation of what is now called the “Sofia Richie Dance,” which consists of a shoulder shimmy, a sway of the hips and an overall cool girl vibe.
A part of the reason why Richie Grainge’s so-called choreography has caused a firestorm on TikTok is seemingly that her fans haven’t actually seen her dance. One comment under Shane’s video read: “She’s just soooo smooth with it.”
Others find a sense of calm in watching the model (whose parents arefour-time Grammy winner Lionel Richie and dancer Diane Alexander) bop around in a chic ensemble and a perfectly slicked-back ponytail in the most care-free way.

However, there’s a side of the Internet that’s absolutely confused as to why the word “dance” is being used to describe the star’s ordinary moves which involve zero choreography compared to other viral breakouts like the “Apple dance” of brat summer 2024.
After the video took off online, many returned to it looking for answers. Simply put, people don’t get what the fuss is about.
“Is this the dance everyone is talking about?” someone commented. “Is the dance in the room with us???” another wrote.
Richie Grainge has yet to comment on the topic, but we predict that the dance will continue to be debated (and copied!) throughout the holiday season.
Meanwhile, she’s been settling into mom life sincewelcoming her daughter Eloisewith husbandElliot Graingethis past May.
