Rebel Wilson’sdaughter Royce is her mom’s number one fan.
In an interview and exclusive photo shoot with PEOPLE before the release of her bookRebel Rising: A Memoir, the actress, 44, shared that her daughterRoyce, 16 months, had already hit a few major milestones, including saying her first word.
“It shocks me how much she melts my heart,” Wilson tells PEOPLE. “And when says, ‘Mama?’ Lately that’s her new favorite word. And that was her first word ever. It just, it melts you and you’re like, ‘Aw.'”
“I thought I would be a strict parent, but apparently I’m the opposite,” the comedian adds.

Reflecting on how her surrogate got pregnant after using Wilson’s “last viable embryo,” the star shares how much of a “miracle” it was when she met her newborn daughter.

In January, the family of threeshared a few sweet photos on Instagramas they celebrated New Year’s Day together. Wearing matching beige outfits, Wilson and Agruma smiled together as they walked through a backyard while Royce giggled.
“2024’s already GREAT! 😘,” Wilson captioned the carousel of pictures.
In one clip, the birthday girl — wearing in a pink dress, gold fairy wings and a first birthday bib — squealed and clapped with excitement as her mom cooed, “Happy birthday, Roycieeee!”
In August, Wilson adorably declared to PEOPLE that 2023 was the"Year of Family"as she and Agruma settled into parenthood and looked forward to tying the knot together.
“We are building our family unit and working on how we do things as a new little family," she said, adding that the best part of her day is spending time with her daughter after work.
“I throw Royce up in the air until she giggles, I tickle her and I help put her to bed. She just melts my heart,” she shared.
