Quasars are regions around powerful supermassive black holes that outshine the lightness of their legion galaxy . Being so bright , quasar are some of   the more distant objects we have ever recover , and now an international team has discovered 63 raw such objects   from the first billion years of the   universe .

" quasar are among the brightest object and they literally illuminate our knowledge of the early universe , " lead author Eduardo Bañados , from the Carnegie Institution of Science in Washington DC , say in astatement .

These young quasi-stellar radio source were discovered by the Pan - STARRS survey in Hawaii , which had antecedently discovered 77 other early universe quasars . The entire set of 140 objects was presented in a newspaper that is availableonline , and will be published in The Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series .

The squad considers the data free as pivotal in our understanding of the early world , which remains a very cryptic epoch and is aptly nicknamed the " cosmic dark age " . have such a large number of object allow for racy statistical analysis of these objects , and the investigator hope it will provide an insight into how the first galaxies came to be .

" The organization and organic evolution of the early light-headed sources and anatomical structure in the universe is one of the greatest mysteries in astronomy , " Bañados say .

" Very brilliant quasars such as the 63 name in this written report are the best tools for helping us dig into the early cosmos . But until now , conclusive event have been restrain by the very small sample distribution sizing of ancient quasars . "

It tookhundreds of millions of yearsafter the Big Bang for the first sensation and galaxy to start shining . Astronomers believe that hydrogen gun fly into the gravitational wells created by dark topic and , under the action of gravity , the accelerator pedal distill into the first stars , and over time into the first galaxies .

This case of survey , and upcoming instruments like theJames Webb Space Telescope , will help in pushing the limits on how far we can see in the past tense , and hopefully find out what actually happened in the cosmic dark eld .
