Isbelsy Olivera and her mother Irisbel Cartalla, both killed in Miami

A mother and daughter were shot and killed in their Miami apartment Wednesday, the city’s police department says. The daughter’s ex is now charged with two counts of murder.

The report says a witness to the shooting then identified Travieso in a photo lineup.

Police reviewed surveillance footage, which allegedly showed Travieso walking around the apartment complex about half an hour before the shooting before entering the building after Cartalla opened the door to let out the witness, the arrest report says.

After entering the apartment, police claim in the report, Travieso followed Cartalla and took out a gun he had allegedly been concealing.

In a press release, police described Travieso as an “estranged ex-boyfriend.”NBC Miamireported that he was Olivera’s ex.

Travieso is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bond. It is not clear if he has entered a plea. NBC reported he was assigned a public defender.
