Hannibal is back for its third season , its butchery - drenched time of year two finale still tarry in viewers ’ nous . The premiere ’s title , “ Antipasto , ” suggests we ’re about to see a pre - meal gustatory sensation of what ’s to come , and indeed many intimate part ( the ace who are still alert , anyway ) do n’t yet appear .

We open at night as our favorite cannibal zips through Paris on a bike . He move into a swanky cocktail company , where he meets Tony , a young poet who ’s quite scornful of the guest he understand Hannibal eye from across the way . We get a little more insight into Bedelia when she get her own flashback later on in the episode , to the death of her patient ( Zachary Quinto in a cameo as a stiff ) that was n’t exactly a killing done in self - defense mechanism … and Hannibal ’s pass to help her check that the consequence is interpreted by external optic exactly the agency she wants it to be . ( She accepted , of course . )
As the slow - paced episode progression ( making time for some madly gorgeous shots of Florence , many of which also admit the vision of Bedelia in to - die - for kit ) , there ’s a sudden uptick in anxiousness when Hannibal , now fully fake it as Dr. Fell , bump to pass into Tony , aka the only individual in township who knows what the genuine Dr. Fell look like . “ My married woman and I would love to have you for dinner , ” Hannibal says . Not knowing what he ’s up against , Tony agrees . “ Is it that kind of company ? ” Tony asks , hopefully , when he misinterprets a comment by Bedelia as being an invitation to have a threesome with the couple .
