Glen Powell is a seductive faux assassin in the first teaser forHit Man.
From director Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused,Boyhood), the comedy stars Powell as a professor named Gary Johnson who “moonlights as a fake hit man for the New Orleans Police Department,” according to a synopsis.
Johnson takes on various personalities and disguises while undercover as he aims to “catch hapless people hoping to bump off their enemies.”

“Hit Manis loosely based on a true-crime article I read almost 20 years ago inTexas Monthly,” Linklater said in a statement. “The film is attempting to hit a lot of notes — comedy, noir, thriller, psychological study — while examining most of all the concept of identity and how fixed our personalities may or may not be.”
Top Gun: MaverickandAnyone But Youstar Powell, 35, co-wrote the movie with Linklater, 63. The duo also worked together on 2016’sEverybody Wants Some!!and 2022’sApollo 10 1⁄2: A Space Age Childhood.
Hit Manis on Netflix June 7, with a limited theatrical release prior.
