Of all the major attractions at the1964 World ’s Fairit seems Ford ’s Magic Skyway receives the least amount of chattering , ink and pixels in 2011 . It was n’t go to Disneyland likeCarousel of ProgressorIt ’s A minor World , and it was n’t a aphrodisiacal sequel likeFuturama II . But it looked like quite the drive nonetheless .

Narrated by Walt Disney , fairgoers hopped into Fords on a journeying from the age of the dinosaurs to the invention of the rack to a “ main road in the sky contain you across the unbounded night and out into sentence and space . ” The audio - animatronic dinosaurs and cavemen of Magic Skyway would be familiar to anyone see a Disney park today , as Epcot’sSpaceship Earth , Universe of EnergyandWorld of Motion(R.I.P. ) all front like they drew quite a bit of inspiration from this attraction .

At the end of the ride Walt ’s intimate voice proclaim , “ perhaps someday we ’ll be twit rocketships like those flashing overhead to anywhere in space .
