Why is everyone back in Storybrooke ? Where did their memory go ? Last night , Once Upon sentence made fully grown leaps forward in answer the hard questions . Unfortunately , all the answer seemed to be “ because magic . ” But we ’ll take what we can get .
First up , sleep Beauty and What’s - His - Face finally come clean about selling out Snow and everyone . They reveal in the retiring Enchanted Forest timeline that Zelena wants her baby , and that they were to inform her of their mien when she landed . Although I ’m not sure exactly when Snow White screw she was fraught , but that could just be me misremembering .
Zelena shows up and directly plough them into flying scallywag . Good .
Later on in the episode the main casts kills a whole mess of flight monkey , we can only hope these two were included . JK — I do n’t want Mulan to be alone .
Meanwhile , Regina is wearing a double roll and it is FANTASTIC .
And then return with this triumphant ‘ do . She . Is . Killing . It .
Basically , some chatter is had in fairy tale kingdom , and they all determine to regain Rumpelstiltskin . Bing - bang - roar , they incur the Dark One , imprisoned and alone in his own castle . But not before Regina lay this melody on Robin Hood : “ Where you add up from , people bathe in rivers and employ pinecone for money . ” Again , KILLING IT .
There Rumps tell them they have to go and regain the good witch Glinda . And that they do . Last week when it was revealed that the actress Sunny Mabrey would be playing Glinda a commenter sent me a link to her vine work ( give thanks you , Pandemonium ) . It was wonderful — behold :
uncalled-for to say , my expectations were high .
But alas , we did not get a champagne pink princess . Instead we got a very pretty , soft spoken witch . Less beginning of Wicked , more goal of Wicked .
Not complaining , just divvy up this cracking TV , because it made me express mirth . So Glinda came and went , after sharing the knowledge that “ light magic ” can kill Zelena . And that the GIGANTIC necklace she ’s always wearing ( that equalize Glinda ’s ) is the informant of her power . But I think we all know that anyway .
Back on Earth , Hook is abduct in the bole of a car . Then re-emerge and endeavor to snatch Henry to save his life . It does n’t go as project .
Lot ’s of mussy things keep to take place on Earth , and eventually all the adult agree it ’s time for Henry to have his “ belief ” back , so they can weaken the swearword . So there ’s a mad elan to find Henry and re - wizardly him , before Zelena can strangle him . How is this solve ? By pass on him the book , because magic make ruler easy .
So they give Henry the Quran , Zelena choke him , Emma apply her easy conjuration to burn up Zelena ’s face , and Regina buss Henry — thus restoring everyone ’s memory .
You see , it was Show White and Charming who enacted the Dark Curse . This is the big reveal . How did they do this ? By ripping out Charmings warmheartedness and bedevil it in the pot . But DON’T WORRY — MAGIC ! — Snow White has Regina rend her own nub out , separate it in half and stick each the respective half inside herself and Charming . magical lives ! Surprise , surprisal .
However as silly as that whole scene was , it still hit me in the chest of drawers cavity where my heart once was because it had Snow and Charming yell at each other . It ’s like watching two child kittens substantiate they ’re NOT getting that can of Anguilla sucklandii you just open up . They adorably yaup , and cry and wave around on each other and it ’s just SO DAMN CUTE . At this peak these two are so good at loving on each other on photographic camera they can sell the whole double heart split surgery . Even though the whole thing fall apart the second you think about it , it ’s still quite fun to view .
But wait , how did they miss their memories ? Before the curse was complete , Zelena snuck in and dumped a remembering - loss potion into the mint . And apparently , that works ! Then she lickedy - split made a memory - steward potion that let her to keep her memory during the dark scourge transition . She make another potion for Rumps . Alas the Dark One does n’t get to wassail it because in a specially clever move , NEAL take back via Rumps ’ body and tells his bird friend George to get off it to Hook ( who will then give the potion to Emma ) .
This instant really works — even the wench whispering . I loved it , fun fairy - narrative reveals . I actually really roll in the hay this instalment as a whole . Despite the whole “ magic fixes everything ” stuff , it still provided answers . Something we ’ve been waiting for , for a long time . And that is slap-up . My remain questions are thus , can we please get more Glinda and does this mean that Hooks ’s lips are still curse ?
