August 29 , 1997 was originally Judgment Day , the day Skynet became ego - aware and plunge atomic weapon , basically ending the world . The result marked the beginning of a timeline when machines ruled the world and start sending terminator back in meter to kill their enemies .
Judgment Day is the thing John andSarah Connorare working toward stopping in Terminator 2 : Judgment Day and , pamperer alert , they ’re successful . At least , we think so . A new movie following the outcome of that film , Terminator : Dark Fate , will explain what happened afterthe James Scott Connors think they stopped the end of everything .

Terminator 2 : Judgment Day came out in the summertime of 1991 . I was 11 - age - old and already pretty movie crazy . I ’d seen all theStar Warsfilms a billion time , all the Freddy and Jason movies that had come out by then , I even get my parents to take me to seeRoboCop , my first R - rat movie .
So when I pop out to see ads for Terminator 2 , I really want to see it . Like , a plenty . I had n’t even go steady the first Terminator yet . I just like Arnold Schwarzenegger and enjoy robots . So I began a place campaign to make my parents take me to see it .

So , back to my direct campaign . fundamentally , I wasRalphie from A Christmas Story . First , there was a muckle of talk about the picture show . Breakfast , lunch , dinner , I would n’t close up . Second , I ’d leave the newspaper open to the movie page and circle the theaters the motion-picture show was playing in … just in case my parent did n’t see it . If we were shopping , I ’d direct out magazine articles on newsstands , placard on wall , whatever I could . One affair was certain , my parents knew I want to see Terminator 2 .
regrettably , my chance of seeing the picture were limited because I was spending my afternoons at a local summer camp ( the film was released on July 3 ) . It was just a 24-hour interval camp , drop off in the morning , pick up in the afternoon , but you do n’t do a lot at nighttime as an 11 - year - old . When you induce home around 4 p.m. , you had dinner party , watched TV and were in bed long before treble digit . That was that .

I was at camp one random afternoon playing games with friend when I heard my name being screamed from across the plain . Turns out , my parent were there to pick me up early . Which , even at 11 , I knew was odd . What was wrong ? Did someone die ? They signed me out and we set about driving . They would n’t tell me where I was going .
When we got off the highway and started to pull out into the parking lot for the movie theatre , I began to cry . Were they tears of joy ? No . They were tears of letdown ! You see , I had con the time the movie was playing . And when I looked at the clock in my parent ’s car , I knew we ’d miss the intended beginning . I was devastated . And , trust me . I know this part of the taradiddle seems like it ’s totally made up but I swear to god , this happened .
We parked . I was crying and my parents did n’t understand why . We ’re see that flick you want to see , they enounce . I know , I said , but we pretermit the showtime . To which my parents say , no we did n’t . Curious , I gave them a “ recite me more ” flavour . Turns out , the theater did n’t keep the same showtimes for every day of the calendar week . So , for this day of the week , the time were different than the ones I had memorized .
We were early and I was about to see Terminator 2 : Judgment Day .

I do recall , later that week , I break to my local video store and rented the first cinema , which helped me fill in some blanks , and then I became obsessed with the movie . I bought post-horse , toy , everything .
