ordinarily , a blanket denunciation of racialism and hate would n’t be considered a subtweet of the Chief Executive . But we live on in over-the-top times .
President Trump emboldened America ’s most vicious racist and bigot yesterday when he pronounce , yet again , that “ both sides ” deserve freeze off for what bechance in Charlottesville , Virginiaover the weekend . In this type , “ both side ” means both the side with all the Nazis and the side with all the mass who counterbalance the Nazis .
Trump even refer to Friday ’s tiki torchlightneo - Nazi rallyand take a firm stand that some of those who attended were good masses . It was such a distasteful and reprehensible commentary that usually conservative observer went so far as to say it was a “ moral shame . ”
General Milley was swear in as Army Chief of Staff in August of 2015 under President Obama . But he ’s been completely unwilling so far to criticise President Trump in any way , as you might wait from a career military officer . Strangely , that could be shift .
It ’s entirely possible that General Milley did n’t intend for his tweet to be a direct attack on the president , but the timing certainly is curious . The mere fact that it could even be interpret as a unfavorable judgment of Trump , as it has been by many people on societal media , picture you just how mess up the land has become . Denouncing racial discrimination and Nazis mean that you now stand on the diametric side of the chair of the United States .
Trump has surrounded himself with plenty of military figures , including his new White House Chief of Staff , General John Kelly . But even hardened military men have their demarcation line . You only need to take a look at John Kelly ’s face during yesterday ’s press conference to see how frustrated he iswith his boss .
