These whimsical paintings are the work of San Francisco creative person Robert Bowen . It ’s part of a aggregation called “ Blasphemous Nature ” in which animals are mix with technology in perplexing and provocative style .

Bowen say this physical structure of work staunch from his fascination with animal / machinery loanblend .

“ There are so many unrequited question I have about them , ” he told io9 . “ Is this a not so aloof future reality ? A terrible road we should never go down ? How do I make the Killer Whale a more effective sea wolf ? ”
“ Can the marlin and shark be even faster hunter , more serious to their only predators , man ? If the bees go forward to disappear , should we design a replacement to pick up where they pull up stakes off ? ”
“ Or do we swallow our fate and stop toy with Mother Nature since that is what get us into worry in the first place . I ’m stay on to play mad scientist in a lab that should never really live . ”

“ Blasphemous Nature ” will be on show at Portland ’s Upper Playground Gallery , opening on August 7th from 6 - 9 PM .
